John Hanifin is a dynamic cellist, composer, and producer whose career spans classical, contemporary, and commercial music. A graduate of The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Longy School of Music, he’s performed as a soloist worldwide, from the Royal Academy of Music to São Paulo’s Municipal Theater. His compositions, including Wenonah, have been recognized around the world, with music featured across four continents and major platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Google. Beyond performance, Hanifin leads innovative projects like Justwo, a duo with guitarist André Cavalcante, reimagining popular songs for cello and guitar. Hanifin is now based in Nashville and continues to compose, produce, and teach cellists from around the world while finalizing his first cello concerto, set for completion in 2025.
