About Jimmy Steele

Inspired by legends like Sam Butera and Clarence Clemons, Jimmy Steele is a Scottish saxophonist known for reviving the classic 1950s rock ‘n’ roll tenor sound. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he is an original member of The Vintage Explosion, a viral group selling out shows across the UK and Ireland. He also performs as a jazz musician with C.A.L.I.E. and other groups. A dedicated educator, Jimmy teaches at The Saxophone Shop in Glasgow and has authored The Basics of Improvising for Saxophone and Music Technology for Saxophonists. He proudly endorses D’Addario Woodwinds reeds.
