César Cardoso

César Cardoso is a Portuguese jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator. Founder and artistic director of Orquestra Jazz de Leiria, he’s performed with jazz greats like Miguel Zenón, Joe Lovano, and Benny Golson. As a prolific arranger, he’s composed over 120 works for big bands, and released albums such as Interchange and Dice of Tenors. As an educator, César is the first Portuguese jazz saxophonist to become a Henri SELMER Paris Artist, and even holds a PhD in Music and Musicology. His Teoria do Jazz series is the first jazz theory book published in Portuguese. It is now available in multiple languages.
