About Shawn Crowder

Shawn Crowder is a drummer, educator, and co-founder of the electronic-jazz duo Sungazer with bassist Adam Neely. Since forming in 2014, Sungazer has toured worldwide and released three acclaimed records, pushing the boundaries of modern jazz and electronic music. Shawn has also performed extensively with Tunisian singer Emel Mathlouthi, playing in over 25 countries across six continents, including North Africa and the Middle East.
A Berklee College of Music graduate, Shawn studied under Mike Mangini (Dream Theater) and later co-authored Rhythm Knowledge, Volume 3. He has held faculty positions at the Berklee Percussion Festival and built a strong following through his educational YouTube channel. Now based in Berlin, he continues to perform, record, and collaborate internationally.
