Since 2004, Philly-based DIY vets Sweet Pill have delivered eruptive, hooky emo tunes in the vein of heroes Paramore and Circa Survive. Thanks to sound that’s been shaped by their origins in the tight-knit local music scene, and the members’ side work in projects such as twentythreenineteen, Goings, Harm Assist, and typopro, Sweet Pill is keeping the mall emo magic alive in Philadelphia, long after the world shelved the eye liner and fingerless gloves for good.
