About Sam Bush

A pioneer of progressive bluegrass, Sam Bush is widely regarded as the “Father of Newgrass.” His career began with the legendary New Grass Revival, where he redefined bluegrass by incorporating rock, jazz, and funk elements. An extraordinary mandolinist and fiddler, Bush has played alongside icons like Emmylou Harris, Béla Fleck, and Lyle Lovett. His solo work, including Circles Around Me (2009), showcases his virtuosic playing and innovative spirit.
