About Ceremony
After two decades and countless sonic evolutions, Ceremony remains true to themselves, and the gear that made their punk journey possible.
Ceremony puts their faith in trusty NYXL 10-46 strings to handle every sound in a decades-long catalogue.
Durable with booming, crystal clear detail, there's no better choice of string to carry the thunderous low end weight for bassist Jasmine Watson.
Ceremony has never been a band to sit still. Emerging from the Bay Area’s hardcore scene in the mid-2000s, they built their reputation on raw, blistering aggression—albums like Violence Violence (2006) and Rohnert Park (2010) were fast, furious, and unapologetically defiant. But instead of repeating themselves, Ceremony did what few hardcore bands dare: they evolved. By the time Zoo (2012) arrived, they had embraced post-punk, channeling Joy Division and Wire as much as Black Flag. The L-Shaped Man (2015) leaned even deeper into icy, gothic new wave, while In the Spirit World Now (2019) dripped with synth-driven urgency. Ceremony doesn’t care about nostalgia or staying in one lane—reinvention is their calling card, and they wear it like a badge of honor.
