Keep Your Guitar in Perfect Condition
Your guitar was protected with D’Addario Humidipak Maintain from the moment it was built, helping preserve its tone, feel, and setup during transit. Now that it’s in your hands, maintaining proper humidity is essential to keep it playing its best.
Why Humidity Matters
Did you know that lack of humidity is one of the leading causes of instrument repairs? It's essential to humidify all wooden instruments, since wood naturally expands and contracts when humidity levels change. Without proper control, your guitar can develop sharp fret ends, neck bow, a sunken top or lifted bridge, lower string height, buzzing notes, cracking of the neck and body, a change in tone of the instrument, and other major issues that compromise playability. To prevent these issues, it’s essential to keep your instrument in the ideal humidity range of 45–50% relative humidity (RH).
How Humidpak Works
D'Addario Humidipak Maintain is a maintenance-free, two-way humidity control system for your guitar. It automatically maintains the optimal 45%-50% relative humidity level within your instrument case, eliminating the guesswork and hassle related to refilling a traditional humidifier.
Using it couldn’t be easier. Simply place the humidification packets with the included pouches into your instrument case, close the lid, and rest assured your instrument is protected.
Each starter kit contains a soundhole pouch (two packets), a headstock pouch (one packet), and the three pre-loaded Humidipak Maintain packets. The packets are available in replacement packs in quantities of three, twelve, and twenty-four.
NOTE: The Humidipak included with your instrument (Humidipak Maintain) helped protect your guitar during shipping, but it’s likely dried out by now. To continue properly regulating humidity, we recommend replacing it with a Humidipak Starter Kit.
