Known worldwide as the “Samurai Guitarist,” Miyavi (born Takamasa Ishihara) is a genre-defying artist known globally for his unique, percussive, finger-slapping style. After first gaining recognition in the visual kei band Dué le Quartz, he launched a solo career in 2002. Since then, he’s released 13 acclaimed albums, headlined eight world tours, and performed in more than 30 countries.
Beyond the stage, MIYAVI has become a global cultural force: founding his own company, J-Glam; acting in films like Unbroken and Kong: Skull Island; and serving as a brand ambassador for leading fashion and tech brands. He’s even pursued humanitarian work as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, leveraged his platform to advocate for refugees around the world.
