THE ONE SYSTEM YOU NEED FOR A COMMANDING LEAD

SPYR Mallets have been engineered from the ground up to give instructors and performers an edge across a breadth of playing applications. The suite includes 24 mallets for marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, and glockenspiel.

COHESIVE TONAL SPECTRUM

Drummer using SPYR mallets

Forget multiple mallet lines for different ensembles.

Designed in collaboration with world-renowned percussionists and educators Kevin Shah and Tony Nunez, the SPYR series features a full suite of 24 mallets, which cover a cohesive tonal spectrum of sounds required on keyboard instruments in a variety of ensembles.

SPYR

CONSISTENT TO THE CORE

Core of a SPYR mallet

Using a patented process, ProMark mallet cores are injection molded in-house, then threaded onto shafts and bonded with epoxy. A proprietary wrapping method extends the life of the mallet and improves consistency.

COLOR SYSTEM NAVIGATION

SPYR boasts a unique color system to help make finding the right mallet intuitive — darker colors for softer mallets and brighter colors for harder mallets. Additionally, base wrap yarn colors were optimized for visibility on each instrument, with a lighter color to contrast wooden marimba bars and a darker color to contrast metal vibraphone bars.

"The completion of SPYR not only represents how we approach percussion today, it also represents 20 years of trial and error in the band room, concert hall and competitive arena. At its core, SPYR was built to bridge the gap between performer, band director, and instructor. We've removed the mystery of how a great mallet should sound, how to choose the right mallet for any performance situation, and we've provided a better tool to communicate sound through the (patented) SPYR color system. SPYR has been meticulously built from the inside out to cover the entire spectrum of needs for any performance ensemble."
